BORA KARAMAN

Bora Karaman graduated from Robert College and subsequently studied for one year at Harriet Fulbright College in Washington, D.C. He then completed his LL.B. at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law as a scholarship student, graduating second in his class, and later obtained an LL.M. in Capital Markets and Commercial Law from Bahçeşehir University.

Following law school, Karaman worked as a trainee lawyer and lawyer at an international law firm, where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financing transactions, public offerings and bond issuances, privatizations and public-private partnership projects. During this period, he advised on major projects across sectors including energy, aviation, banking, international trade and infrastructure.

Karaman currently focuses his practice particularly on commercial disputes, maritime law and transport law. He advises and represents domestic and international clients in vessel sale and purchase and chartering, charterparty and carriage agreements, bill of lading disputes, cargo claims, maritime claims and ship arrests, as well as commercial and operational disputes in the maritime sector. He also advises on the sale, purchase, chartering, registration and contractual matters relating to yachts and other marine craft.

Karaman also practises in insurance and compensation law, representing clients before courts and the Insurance Arbitration Commission, particularly in disputes arising from bodily injury and fatal or personal-injury traffic accidents.

Bora Karaman is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Robert College Alumni Association, Bahçeşehir University Alumni Association, Bahçeşehir Law Association, International Sailing Club and the Ethics and Reputation Society of Türkiye.
